Ohe federal government of the United States no longer sends stimulus checksafter distributing three previously, residents of certain states should receive one fourth stimulus check in 2022. These states have taken matters into their own hands and that’s good news for their residents, with the economic hardships of the coronavirus pandemic still affecting millions of Americans.
The four states that are preparing more stimulus payments has a total population of 87 million. While not everyone is eligible for another stimulus check, many will be and we outline everything you need to know in this guide, going through each of these four states one by one.
Stimulus check 2022 in New York
In New York State, a stimulus fund of just over $2 billion has been approved to help undocumented workers who have been unable to collect previous federal stimulus checks. This is called the Excluded Workers Fund and money has already been paid out to those who fell into this category and earned less than $26,208 in 2020. Now this program is extended in 2022.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is not over yet, and as we continue our work to rebuild and recover, we know people are still in need,” Governor Kathy Hochul noted. “The Excluded Worker Fund is an essential lifeline for thousands of New Yorkers who were integral to the functioning of our state during the worst times of the pandemic, and that is why I have insisted that we have the money as quickly as possible.”
2022 stimulus check in Indiana
Indiana State is very different from New York, but one thing residents have in common is that they are also eligible for stimulus funds in 2022. Indeed, the Indiana State Government posted a surprisingly large surplus last year and the government wants to share that with residents through a tax refund worth about $125.
“We have an obligation to put this money back in the hands of the taxpayers instead of leaving it in the hands of the government,” said the Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb noted.
2022 stimulus check in California
Californians have been well taken care of by their state government during the pandemic, with that state hosting its high-profile activities Golden State Stimulus Programs. In 2022, Californians can expect a third check, according to Governor Gavin Newsom.
“We expect in the language of May when I update the budget that we will probably have an additional refund for taxpayers,” newsom has explained.
2022 Stimulus Check in Florida
Another state where a new stimulus check is coming in 2022 is Florida. In this case, the checks are for school teachers and this is a thank you for their extra efforts during the pandemic. It is believed that these 2022 stimulus checks will be worth $1,000 each.
“From day one, I have been focused on making Florida a leader in education and I am proud to announce my proposals to invest record funding in our education system over the next next year”, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis noted. “By continuing to increase teachers’ salaries, award bonuses to principals and teachers, prioritize workforce education, foster a strong civics program, and replace FSA by tracking progress, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.”
